Ecstacy's Blade

Note: Brother Darnial Tactical Marine of the Imperial Fists joined the kill team.
Brother Magron was redone, no longer a Dark Angel but a Raven Guard.

---Ship Captain Brastus Mission Report

Upon retrieving the Kill Team from Castiel a Cruiser was detected emerging from the dark side of Castiels moon. The ship was detected to be a Chaos Cruiser of the Emperors Children. The cruiser outclassed our own in fire power, so a plan was formulated to use boarding torpedoes taking the vessel from within. Brother Zaharial was occupied with treating Brother Alus.

Upon making a swift pass boarding torpedoes were launched under the cover of fire from our broadside guns. The Kill Team deployed finding a console and locating their exact position. The decision is made that their first port of call should be the engineerium to disable the warp drives.

Heading down largely unguarded corridors until a long stretch where a servitor waits at the end. Heavy Bolter fire poured down the corridor as the team ducked back around the corner. Brother Ansum attempted to take the problem head on, gunning his jump pack, but misjudged the height of the corridor and bounced off the ceiling before slamming into the floor and sliding to a halt being peppered with fire. The rest of the team step in at Ansums 'distraction' and take the servitor apart with accurate fire.

The team make it to the Engineerium and breach the doors. Inside there was little opposition other than human workers, heretics and an Emperors Children over seeing everything. Ignoring the opposition Brother Mortis headed straight to the consoles. Brother Ansum took to the overhead walkways to reach the heretics above. The rest of the team fanned out and slaughtered all opposition with precision, then swiftly secured the area with Brother Darnials expertise. The drives and life support systems were disabled by Brother Mortis and the team moved on.

Heading to the other end of the cruiser towards the bridge. The team faced an emplacement at a sort of crossroads of corridors. A pair of Heavy Bolter emplacements keep the Kill Teams heads down, while Brother Magron doubled back and came at the emplacement from the side, using a Frag grenade and a few well placed shots the well organised defenses were turned to shambles and the team pulled the defenses apart.

Reaching the final bulkhead door before the bridge the team found their path blocked by three Emperors Children in Tactical Dreadnought Armour. The enemy Terminators began raking fire across the Brothers of the Kill Team. The team expended all but one of their Melta-bombs at this point as they threw them as best they could at the Terminators. The Melta-bombs combined with the Sound Strike Missile Launcher that Brother Magron saw fit to bring along devastated the Terminators. Force fields overcharged, armour split open and blood leaking the enemy were then swiftly dispatched by precision fire from the team.

Breaching the bulkhead door to the bridge proved difficult first a hole was blown in it which required opening up using Brother Mortis' Servo-Arm. Once inside the bridge the human crew were swiftly dispatched, leaving a few enemy Marines and the Captain in Terminator armour. The Chaos Marines proved troublesome as one armed with a Plasma Gun very nearly killed Brother Magron, his arm very close to being lost to the over heated plasma. Brother Marcus raising his Heavy Bolter let loose a devastating fusillade of fire, completely pulverising the enemy Captain, whose Iron Halo failed to deflect a single round.

With the bridge secured and forces on route to cleanse the rest of the ship the teams mission was done and extraction followed.---

  1. I forgot I sneaked up :P

as a note to all I'm workiong on a kill team diorama of sorts and would like your prefered (or final weapons options) and chapter heraldry for the shoulder pads. that is all.

  2. @Citizenwilliams Awesome :D

  3. Presumably this diorama will have Brother Mortis at the front taking the brunt of any initial gunfire (as normal) with Brother Ansum running past him towards the nearest enemy (probably with bits of dead innocent bystander all over him) and will feature Brother Magron hiding behind something waaaaay at the back.....

I'm guessing in addition we'll have brother Darnials making something out of sandbags, our psyker writhing around on the floor after almost summoning a Daemon Prince (again), our apothecary running just behind either bother Mortis or Ansum ready to patch them up (again) and brother Marcus ruining another carefully written scenario by pwning some arch enemy with his Heavy Bolter before the enemy in question can even get started on his 'Just as Planned Mwahahahahah' speech.....

  5. @ Citizenwilliams - I'm beginning to thing that our GM has some kind of weird damage table reserved just for me as I seem to either be completely unharmed or almost cut in two but never anything in between.....and has another for Brother Clayton that only has the 'mild Headache' or 'SUMMON DAEMON PRINCE!!!!!!!!!!' results on it.....

  6. Brother Mortis has made a few notes about the last couple of missions as well ;-)

Though they somewhat rely on Flello actually sticking to what he said about me having enough time to add a few more bionics as well as other bits and pieces, lol.

  8. @GMort You can install one more bionic, was it legs u wanted?

    ReplyDelete
  9. @ A.D. - Yeah I'll have new legs. I also get a 'free' one for going up to 'Respected' by virtue of being a Techmarine, can I have another as well or shall I wait and use my 'freebie'* later?

    * it doesn't say I have to install it straight away, just that I get one. So I may save it for later so I can get both my arms done at the same time ;-)

  10. or I can use my freebie to upgrade one I've already got if that suits you better?

    ReplyDelete
  11. @GMort - just the one bionic installation. Use your free one for the legs your installing. Legs are a pair, arms are two individual sugeries, because thats the way i am ;)

  12. Fine, just as long as I know so I can plan ahead appropriately.

Is it okay to 'upgrade' existing systems at the same time as my 'one bionic replacement per mission' as I'm not technically replacing anything, just modifying it. I ask because at 'respected' renown I can pay extra requisition to get better versions of things?

  13. One bionic may be installed OR upgraded, each time there are facilities and enough time.

  14. @ A.D. - Purging the flesh is apparently a long and drawn out process.....

I sent you an e-mail detailing my required XP spend upgrades and the justifications for each one. There's nothing in there that isn't justifiable or in character or both but I thought I'd sort them out now rather than waste time before the next Deathwatch game ;-)

  15. @GMort - I don't want you turning into a machine overnight, just steadily.

And i will take a look.

  16. @ A.D. It's not a problem it's just that Rank 2 and 'Respected' renown opens up a lot of new possibilities and combined with the freebie Bionic I also get at 'respected' I kind of had a 'kid in a sweet shop' moment, lol.
